Explore Our 6 Favorite Oregon Coast Lighthouses
- Yaquina Head Lighthouse: Towering 93 feet over the rugged Oregon Coast shore, this lighthouse has been a beacon of light since 1873. This is one of the few Oregon lighthouses that offers tours.
- Heceta Head Lighthouse: This is one of the most photographed Oregon Coast lighthouses. It’s not hard to see why, as it looks like a sight from a fairytale world. They offer fantastic staff-guided tours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the summer and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the winter.
- Cape Meares Lighthouse: This may be one of the shortest Oregon Coast lighthouses, but it had one of the most powerful Fresnel lens available when it was built in the 1890s. They no longer offer tours inside the lighthouse tower to protect the Fresnel lens.
- Tillamook Rock Lighthouse: This is one of the most unique lighthouses on the Oregon Coast that stands on a rock in the ocean. It can only be reached by boat and is closed, so you’ll have to take in the view from the shore.
- Yaquina Bay Lighthouse: Built in 1871, this is one of the most historical Oregon Coast lighthouses. This is the oldest building in Newport, the only Oregon lighthouse with its living quarters still attached, and it is the only wooden lighthouse still standing in Oregon. The lighthouse is open most days from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
- Cleft of the Rock Lighthouse: This is a stunning lighthouse in the Cape Perpetua area discovered by Captain James Cook. This is a private lighthouse, though, so you’ll only be able to view it from a distance.
